If Townsend Whelen only liked them accurate, he'd sure be proud of this one! Using a dot sight in bright daylight with winds gusting over 20 mph, I shot Crosman Premiers into groups measuring under 3/8" c-t-c at 18 yards! Shades of the legendary Crosman 160 target rifle!
Velocity depends on three things with any CO2 gun-the weight of the pellet, the ambient temperature and how fast you fire one shot after another. Carbon dioxide pressure drops with the temperature, plus the gas is a refrigerant. Rapid firing will lower velocity.

Cover slides forward on left side of receiver to reveal the 12-shot circular pellet clip. This is the same unit used in Crosman's Model 1077 rifle; Gaylord says be sure to buy several.
That said, the Nightstalker performs best on warm days or in a warm room. For greatest accuracy, let the gun warm up for 10 to 15 seconds between shots. However, if all you want to do is roll an aluminum pop can, shoot as fast as you like-this gun can do it better than any other!
The test rifle averaged 559 fps with .177 Gamo Match pellets and 571 fps with RWS Hobbys. That means the Nightstalker is for target practice and general shooting-not hunting. With the 7.9-grain Premiers used for accuracy testing, the average was 519 fps on a 75? day.
Accessories
The Nightstalker can be purchased as a gun only or as the kit I tested. The kit includes an adjustable folding bipod, a tactical flashlight and a red dot scope, plus all the attaching mounts and hardware.

Crosman's speedloader does just what the name implies. It's almost a necessity to keep up with the rapid-fire Nightstalker. No need to combine fast shooting with painfully slow loading!
The bipod is useful for precision shooting, plus it provides a steady rest when the carbine is set down. The legs fold up and lock against the gun when not deployed. They're also separately adjustable for length, so you can adapt to the terrain, plus the gun is easily rotated side-to-side, making sighting easier. Plus, the bipod dresses up the whole package!
The tactical flashlight is powered by two CR123 camera batteries that really brighten the night! I had a suspicious noise on my roof one evening, and that Nightstalker light made everything SWAT-team visible. The pressure switch is on the end of a long pigtail that attaches anywhere you want with adhesive Velcro patches.
