In the latest installment of “what a shocker,” the New York Post reports a New York police officer has been charged with stealing guns and other items from the lockers of his fellow police and selling them.

A fellow policeman who knew the suspect, Nicholas Mina, was quoted as saying, “This is the lowest crime–to steal from your fellow cops. Somebody you work with, you dress with, you change with,” said a retired cop who knows Mina. “To rob a gun that could be used against a fellow cop someday. There’s nothing lower.”
Some of us might argue it’s pretty low to have a mayor who sets up straw gun purchases far outside his jurisdiction in an effort to extend NYC’s failed gun control policies to the rest of us. But let’s just leave it at this. When you cut off legal sales of guns, people will get them some way, even if it takes a crooked cop.
