looks like sig did it again ! very nice interpitation of the m14 hats off to sig thanks for still giving us the beauty and quality of such nice works of art

    • https://www.facebook.com/roberttwillis Robert Willis

      AR 15 not M14!

  • Joe Coastie

It's a copy of an M-4 their sailor the m-14 looks more like an M-1 garand or M-1A1. Sure looks cute but it's still an AR-15. Just another M-16 clone of sorts to aid in filling the gunworld with these type weapons. Seems like sig would do better to engineer a whole new gun rather than redo one that already exists.

    • Rusty Shackleford

Better than a bare bones ar

  • Rob Gully

    He said Sailor…lol

  • sirjames1967

Joe obviously does not have one. I do, and it is sweet. I made a kill shot on a doe yesterday from over 400 meters out using the iron sights with a 15-20 mpr wind in my face, I have two witnesses to this spectacular shot. The Sig m400 is one outstanding rifle. I taught my son how to break it down completely and reassemble and he can do it in under 2 minutes, not bad being I picked this rifle up yesterday morning.

    • Rusty Shackleford

      Awesome !

  • sandboxjim

Sirjames1967 that seems highly unlikely. and if it did happen it is very unethical. the 5.56 nato round doesen't have the balls to kill deer cleanly at 400 yards. You made a kill shot maybe, but how many shots did it take for you to get on target or walk it in. not very sporting

    • Rusty Shackleford

Using Ak Ironsights, I have hit does at 300m no problem in vitals. 7.62×39 is effective out to that range too.

  • Kahveman

    still prefer the 5.56

  • Richard

    agree with ALL this….

You guys are idiots, why do u think the military uses the 5.56 NATO! The shot can be easily made at 500 yards, one shot. Ask any Marine what they think about the AR platform.

      • mike

dude shut up. the ar-15 is junk. ask people how many times they have to shoot someone for them to drop. most of the time it was twice and they ran off to die someplace else.

        • Dave-USMC Ret.

Apparently Mike you are not a Marine and it probably wasn't a Marine who was doing the shooting. That weapon is good for 500+yds if you know what you are doing. We trained for that. I still own an AR along with other's and wouldn't leave home without it.

    • TapTap

1 shot 1 kill sounds familiar to most of us thats done it!

  • bhupinder.sandhu

well a 7.62×39 should have no problems in hitting that far .well remains to be just verified if the bullet has the velocity it is not impossible many years back i got deer at 6oo yds with a bsa 8mm with iron sights and ihave four people to confirm the shot.

  • JackD

Oooohhhh. Look. A all new, MIL-SPEC AR. With MAGPUL furniture. How exciting.

  • https://www.facebook.com/roberttwillis Robert Willis

The M16 is the Military version of the AR 15! the AR 15 came first!! The man that invented it was named "STONER" he was a civilian building a civilian weapon the the Military adopted and turned it into the M16!

    • TapTap

The AR-15 was first built by ArmaLite as a selective fire rifle for the United States armed forces. Because of financial problems, ArmaLite sold the AR-15 design to Colt. The select-fire AR-15 entered the US military system as the M16 rifle. Colt then marketed the Colt AR-15 as a semi-automatic version of the M16 rifle for civilian sales in 1963.[8] Although the name "AR-15" remains a Colt registered trademark, variants of the firearm are independently made, modified and sold under various names by multiple manufacturers.

The AR-15 is based on the 7.62 mm AR-10, designed by Eugene Stoner, Robert Fremont, and L. James Sullivan of the Fairchild ArmaLite corporation.[9] The AR-15 was developed as a lighter, 5.56 mm version of the AR-10. The "AR" in AR-15 comes from the ArmaLite name. ArmaLite's AR-1, AR-5, and some subsequent models were bolt action rifles, the AR-7 a semiautomatic survival rifle and there are shotguns and pistols whose model numbers include the "AR" prefix.[9]

  • Mike Balog

Eugene Stoner was an engineer with Fairchild Aircraft company and invented the AR 15 5.56 MM Automatic rifle for the USAF under contract. This rifle was designed to replace the M1 Garand, The M 14 Rifle and the M1 Carbine for a standard battle 1st for the USAF as a light weight battle rifle,. that would allow ground troops to carry twice as much ammo with a rifle that weighed Less that the M14 Rifle. And had the similar effective range stats. The Original AR 15 proved successful in that it developed into the M 16 Type A1
Rifle put into Production for the U..S.Army and the USMC as a replacement for the M14 battle rifle. The only drawback was the M 16 Rifle used the .223 or 5.56 MM Nato Round, instead of the .308 Nato Round the
M14 used. The AR 15 was also developed for the .308 Nato Cart. designated the AR -10.

I have a 400 Encanced to go along with my 7 SIG handguns. Simply put…..IT'S A SIG !!!

  • David

Got one recently & love it! Ambi-mag release, safety, & ambi quick detach single point sling attachment. Hard choices these days, Stag 3 or this one was my choice. It does have very good fit & finish better than most I have seen at gun shows of all makes. Just DI like my trusty '99 Bushmaster. Eats everything I throw down it's throat, kinda like..nevermind! Great gun, magpul dresses it up, but no sissy to the Bushy! Great mid level gun that will shoot when I pul the trigger, & hits what I'm aiming at!..when I do truly aim it! Eotech sure makes short work of shooting it!~!

  • braider26

Just bought one today , sure looks neat ! I'll have my navy seal father unlawful show me how to use it in July , he's the one who suggested it . Can't go wrong there huh !

  • Mike

I'm picking mine up in two weeks. It will be fitted with EOTech sights. This will be my first AR type weapon. BTW, the SIG was recommended by a law enforcement and an ex military buddy.

  • majorjer

Wow, Sir James, gr8 post.. do you pull your pants up over your brain every day too?Teaching that kid some really gr8 values in the arena of sportsmenship,Bulls*.t, & lying. Get a Life! & quit posting stupid fantasy crapola!

    • Todd

majorjer, unless you can prove someone a liar the you and the rest need to pull heads out of arses. 5.56 has the capabilities well past 400 meters. During my time in the Army I shot an 800 meter target with in 3 rounds using an M249 and iron sights. Utilizing the basic fundamentals a well place round can take down at 400 meters easily.

  • TheSirenKnight

Guys – there's a difference between meters and yards.

  • KD5GDD

No testosterone in this thread! HarHar!

  • JOE BLOW

    Dopes…….It is an M4.
The Lower is even stamped M4 NOT AR!
