The Browning Model 1900 Pistol

The Browning Model 1900 Pistol

The barrel of the Model 1900 is threaded into the frame, and Coffield says it can be quite difficult to remove. Parts aren't all that common, so be careful when attempting removal.

Question: I have a Browning Model 1900 .32ACP pistol with a very bad barrel. Due to corrosive ammunition and the lack of care at some point in the past, the barrel is severely pitted. I want to rebarrel the pistol, but I am confused about how the barrel is attached to the frame. Is it pressed in and pinned like the Makarov?

Answer: No. The barrel on the Browning Model 1900 pistol is threaded into the frame and at times can be very difficult to remove without damage to the frame. If you attempt to remove it, be very careful!

I have an Erfurt PO-8 with a pitted bbl., but also have a 5-1/2" commercial bbl in mint condition.
How do I remove the bad one and install the longer one without damage to the mint bbl ? And is there an index mark to line up to begin the process ? Does doing this require a special tool ? If so can you advise me where to locate one?
    Thanks, Norm.

    Hello,

Is this the same Orus Reid Coffield that was stationed in Weisbaden, Germany in the early '70's. My father is Dick Bartlett. If so, can you contact me through email.

HELP… I need some straight answers regarding two questions… First, I've recently accquired a 1915 Lee-Enfield mod 1 mk III* SMLE, Manufactured at Enfield Arsenal & shipped to Australia during WW2… This rifle has BOTH the original-style offset scope mounting points AND a later set of drilled & tapped holes in the top of the receiver… the serial # is less than 1050, and I would like to find out if this particular rifle may have been a sniper rifle during either of the world wars… Q#2 – have a 1903 Colt Hammerless type 3 on hold, but was told that .32ACP & .32 Colt (rimless / smokeless) are completely different… would also like to find a .380 acp conversion kit for the same gun if they're still available…

always wanted a Styer-Hahn but all I can find is the weapon in 9MM Styer, does anyone do conversions to 9mm Luger or is that something that would have to go back to Styer. I know they converted some for WWII and marked them on the slid with a P-08 but that increases the price of the weapon
