Sarco On The Move!

Gun-hating regulators have made it tough for SGN’s largest advertiser to do business in New Jersey. The solution? Move next door.

This former fireworks factory at 50 Hilton St., Easton, Pa., is the new home for Sarco gun sales. It's just off I-78 and will have a shooting range next door.

If you've ever visited the former Sarco showroom in Stirling, N.J., you'll find its comfortable mustiness has been replaced by an airy and well-lit atmosphere.

It's always more than guns at Sarco. Butch Steen shows SGN sales rep Pat Bentzel an East German MiG-21 cockpit. It can grace your living room for just $10,000.

Marie Steen serves up the hot dogs at the Sarco grand opening. A large and curious crowd came to see the guns and other treasures to be had in Easton.

Company founder "Cholly" Steen shares a laugh with some old customers. Whether Sarco's huge parts inventory will move to Pennsylvania remains to be seen.

Buying a pistol or long gun at the new store will be a lot easier process, thanks to gun laws that are a whole lot more sensible than those of New Jersey.

I hope PA makes gun sales easier for them. As for the Mig-21 cockpit… I'm not sure I would get away with bringing that home.

    • JOE CONCEPCION

lol…i know what u mean…my wife would kill me!

  • Ray

I think it's great Sarco took their business to a more gun friendly state. NJ surely wouldn't want the tax revenue from such an evil enterprise!

  • Bill Dean

Thank god someone had the brains to get the hell out of N.J.

N.J. doesn't like guns, motorcycles or people for that matter!!!

Good move Sarco, wish you luck with the new place!! Congrats!

  • Jim

Welcome Sarco, I for one am glad to have you. I am sure you will find PA more hospitable than our neighbor NJ. Much success

  • Bob

If Charlie Steen is parting out his MIG how is He going to get to work on time commuting all the way from stirling,New Jersey?

  • Don

I lived in NJ of four years bought most of my guns in PA. Now I live in ND. It gets better as you go west. Too bad Sarco didn't come to Bismarck. Wish you great success

    • P Becher

Not too far West. When you get to CA, Oz starts to look conservalive

Maybe it's the "SEA AIR"? Did you know that most ships run on crude oil.!

      • nagmashdriver

Great line, and this comes from someone who recently escaped the PRK for The Free State of Arizona

  • Carl

Hope they move all operations to Pa. N.J. is a CESSPOOL. Maybe the new Governor can bring common sense to that state.

    • http://frontpagemag.com SKIP

He appointed a MB muslim to the NJ supreme court, what does that tell you about the liklihood of bringing common sense to NJ?

  • Tony

Not impressed with the showroom. You can view everything in about twenty minutes. Parts that are displayed is repro junk. Most of the firearms are antique garbage at ridiculous prices that anyone with a little common sense would not even consider purchasing. Single shot antique shotguns from Spain! C'mon what a waste of time. Glad I live locally and didn't waste much gas driving there. I asked for a part and was told that it was still in Jersey because they ran out of storage space. So much for the new building having adequate space. The junkie firearms need to be moved to one side of this tiny showroom and more shelving needs to be installed to display parts. That was on October 21st, after viewing the website touting how everything is now in Pa. If you have to drive a great distance to get there, don't do it. You will only waste time and fuel.

Obviously you shop at the super stores like Cabala’s and the regular PA gun shops (the size of a closet). Sarco's new showroom is actually four times the size of their old New Jersey showroom and they have actually expanded their standard surplus firearms to include many new commercial manufactures such as Glock, HK, Stoeger and Savage hunting rifles and shotguns. Had you taken more than 20 minutes of your time you would have actually noticed this. As far as parts, I've gone in many times to buy parts and have been told that they are working on increasing the parts in the showroom. They do have a full compliment of parts in the back warehouse and if you have a specific request all you need to do is ask and a majority of the time it is available. I would also like to add that the sales people are very knowledgeable. I for one think it’s definitely worth the drive!

Tony, you sound a little disgruntled, perhaps Dicks would be a better place for you to shop, or wally world, you know the big box stores that line the pockets of dirtbags like Christy to get rid of the competition like Sarco's… Give em a break, they just moved!

  • thomas

WI is right along side with NJ, we jsut got rid of DOYLE, our pile of crap gov, he spent teh FED drug money of pampering the uniouns. Dont bleive me, Barack cut off the drug money to the states via executive order, go look, go the the white house website, look for drug control program, and $118 a day grant money

  • Michael

Would the last American to leave New Jerksey, please bring the flag?

  • Jim

When I read about places like New Jersey and Connecticutt, I thank God I live in Texas! Sarco and every other business is welcome here. We like having jobs and revenue!

    • Mickey

I agree, I live in Cypress Texas, What a great state, Don't Mess with Texas, Love it.

      • ARPRO64

While I agree Texas is a Great State, Connecticut isn't too bad, we can have all the good class 3 stuff, and we're not as bad as The peoples republic of New York or Ass-a-Chew-sets…

  • joe

Sarco is lucky to be out of the Peoples Democratic Republic of New Jersey. One agency is trying to attract business to NJ, & another one is driving them out. Maybe if enough businesses leave they will get some common sense.

    • http://frontpagemag.com SKIP

Why think that? I hasn't happened in caliFOREIGNER.

  • Joe

PA has some cool gun laws my grandpa is a gun collector and has a legal registerd thompson machinegun.

  • Vin M

these commie states would exempt the 2nd, as well as the 1st amendment given the chance. NY, NY, CA hate America and the Constitution

  • VIC

THEY MADE THE RIGHT DECISION, NEW JERSEY IS TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL ON GUN LAWS, THEY ARE MAKING THIS STATE A DICTATORSHIP.

WE HAVE A FEW LIBERALS WITH ALOT OF MONEY DOING THIS, IT ALLRIGHT FOR THE RICH HAVE THEIR HOBBIES BUT IF REGULAR MAN WANTS TO ENJOY THEIR HOBBIE THEY MAKE LIFE ROUGH FOR THEM
I CAN'T WAIT TO LEAVE JERSEY, IT IS BECOMING A THIRD WORLD NATION ANYWAY

  • Chris Tisch

I left Jersey 8 yrs ago for Arizona what a difference, In 2000 Bob Viden, Jon Lott, and I gave testimony in the NJ Senate on smart gun legislation. I can say without reservation, the hearings were a sham, their minds were made up before any testimony was given. Jon Lotts factual analysis from police and FBI statistics was completely ignored. All told about 8 people were allowed to testify. They voted for smart gun. One must remember Jersey is one of but a very few states that has no 2nd amendment rights in it's constitution. And by law residents have no right of self defence. All can be verified by Evan Nappen a gun rights Attorney.

  • Doug

Wow, I just ran across an ad from Sarco in a Guns and Ammo special mag. on Surplus Firearms from the mid-80's last night.

Keep doing what you have to in order to stay in business. And I'll be wishing you the very best of luck.

  • Ronhart

I emigrated from NJ in 1957 to see what it was like to be a free man and have never regretted it. I have since lived in New Mexico, Missouri, Alaska, Mississippi, Florida, Utah and Colorado where I now reside. In each of these states I have enjoyed my Constitutional right to own and use firearms of all types. I will NEVER return to New Jersey!!

  • Brian Van Den Breen

A total rip off. I bought a Browning .22 conversion, probably built in Brazil. It jammed on every round and I had to take the gun apart with a round jammed in the chamber and the hammer back. I returned that piece of junk and can't get my money back from these crooks. Before I sent back their crap I even offered to take it to a gun shop of their choice to make it work. They know they are selling shit.
